There are images, words in everyone’s consciousness, which work like a ’red button’ - when seen or heard, a feeling of deep excitement starts to expand instinctively in the mind. In my case, the world ’metamorphoses’ or ’transformation’ is such a red button.

Reading Nietzsche’s Thus spoke Zarathustra was the inspiration for this body of work. In his three  metamorphoses, he describes the process of spiritual transformation, of which three phases are characterized by the camel, the lion and the child. I was subconsciously drawn to the lion, probably because I am personally stucked in the ’camel phase’. Creating the image of the lion was an expression of my wish to be one, to be able to ’level up’, „capture freedom and be lord in my own desert”.

In two works, I was directly inspired by Nietzche’s lion (Adam’s vision about the second metamorphoses of Eve’s spirit’ and The 2nd metamorphoses of the spirit of Alexander the Great); Pyramid surgical assistant is a self-portrait and a result of reading too much alchemy in the days when I was desperately looking for a tool to improve my inner qualities; while in other works, I tried to depict the transformation  or  transubstantiation of some other phenomena (water, bread from the last supper, or a bodyless soul) between the physical and metaphisical states of it’s being.
